Choose a Dive Suit

scuba diving gear

A divesuit is a piece o clothing designed to protect the diver from the marine environment. The diving suit includes a breathing apparatus supply. This is often referred to as a separate item. The type of diving will determine whether the suit is one piece or several pieces. Divers can choose from a variety of types including a drysuit, wetsuit, helmet suit or semi-drysuit.

Wetsuit

The thickness of the material is crucial when choosing a suit. Water temperatures over 25 degrees Celsius are best suited for wetsuits with thicknesses between three and five millimeters. Thinner suits provide better mobility and buoyancy, but they sacrifice the warmth needed for colder dives.

A wetsuit may be made from different materials, depending on the weather conditions. Two-piece suits can be used for colder conditions. One-piece suits can be worn in mild temperatures. Two-piece suits have a combined thickness of 10-14 mm of neoprene above the torso and one layer of neoprene below the limbs.

Drysuit

The drysuit is an excellent choice for cold to temperate water diving. It keeps the diver from becoming too hot or losing his heat underwater. The drysuit is made from neoprene rubber. It traps millions upon millions of gas bubbles to keep the diver warm. The material keeps the diver's body at 98.6°F, which is neutral buoyancy. You can also wear a boot or sock to add warmth.

A special hose is used to inflate drysuits. The regulator connects the hose to the first stage. When a diver wants to add more air, they press the inflate button. The left arm also houses a dump-valve. The suit must be manually removed once the air has been absorbed.

Helmet suit

Helmet suits are a common safety feature of diving suits. They protect the diver from bright and harmful ultraviolet light. A visor can be placed over the helmet's head when not in use. Some helmets also have a spitcock for washing out condensation that can build up in the helmet. This can cause fogging and reduce visibility.

A diving helmet, similar to the one used by salvage fishermen, is another example. It can only be worn on Tutorial Island during Beneath Cursed Tides. Although the helmet can't be removed until the very last moment of diving, there are several ways to take it off. This article will briefly describe the diving suit helmet.

Semi-drysuit

The iFLEX semi-dry dive suit is the most comfortable, flexible, and best fitting of its type. It uses the most up-to-date wetsuit design innovations including ultra stretch dive neoprene. The suit allows the diver the freedom to move with minimal restriction without compromising comfort. In addition, it is easy to get in and out of the suit in a matter of seconds.

Semi-dry suit have better seals than wetsuits. It limits the amount and speed with which water can enter or leave the suit. This allows the water to remain warm within the suit but not quickly escape. This ensures the diver doesn’t lose buoyancy to the compression of air bubbles as the dive deeper.
