Choose a Dive Suit

scuba diving florida

A dive suit is clothing that protects a diver from the water. A diving suit usually includes a supply of breathing gas, which is often referred as separately. Depending on the type of diving, the diving suit may be one piece or a combination of different types. Divers may choose from different types of suits such as wetsuits, drysuits, helmet suits or semi-drysuits.

Wetsuit

The thickness of the material is crucial when choosing a suit. For water temperatures exceeding 25 degrees Celsius, we recommend that wetsuits be three to five millimeters thick. Thinner suits provide better mobility and buoyancy, but they sacrifice the warmth needed for colder dives.

Depending on the temperature, a wetsuit can be made from various materials. One-piece suits have been designed for mild temperatures while two-piece suits work well in colder climates. Two-piece suit usually have a combined thickness ranging from 10-14 micrometers over the body and one layer on the legs.

Drysuit

Using a drysuit is a great choice for temperate to cold water diving, as it prevents the diver from overheating and losing body heat while underwater. A drysuit is made of Neoprene Rubber, which traps millions in tiny gas bubbles to keep a diver warm. The material is breathable and allows for a diver to maintain a body temperature around 98.6 degrees. This helps to maintain neutral buoyancy. You can wear a sock, boot, or other warm clothing with the material.

A special hose is used to inflate drysuits. The regulator's first stage connects to the hose. A diver can then inflate the regulator by pressing the inflate button. The left arm also houses a dump-valve. Once the air is inside the suit, the diver must manually remove it by pushing the release valve on the suit.

Helmet suit

Helmets are a common safety feature on diving suits. They protect the diver from bright and harmful ultraviolet light. When the helmet is not being used, it has a visor that can flip over the faceplate. Some helmets have a spraycock that removes any buildup of condensation. This can create a fogging effect and cause problems with the diver's visibility.

A diving helmet, similar to the one used by salvage fishermen, is another example. The helmet can't be worn during travel to Tutorial Island during Beneath Cursed Tides. Although the helmet can't be removed until the very last moment of diving, there are several ways to take it off. This article will give you a brief history about the diving suit helmet.

Semi-drysuit

The iFLEX semi-dry dive suit is the most comfortable, flexible, and best fitting of its type. It incorporates the latest wetsuit design innovations, including ultra-stretch dive neoprene, which allows the diver to move freely without compromising comfort. You can also get into the suit quickly and easily.

Semi-dry suit have better seals than wetsuits. It limits the amount and speed with which water can enter or leave the suit. This ensures that the water remains warm within the suit, but does not escape. This means that the diver's buoyancy is not affected by the compression caused by air bubbles.
