What is ERDI?

ERDI is a leading provider of educational research opportunities and professional development opportunities for superintendents and assistant/deputy-superintendants. This program has promoted dialogue among school leaders and industry professionals about equity and leadership within the education system. ERDI also hosted the first ever Thought Leader Symposium where industry and school leaders explored ways to improve equity and excellence in education.

ERDI offers a variety of programs

ERDI has a number of great programs for international students. ERDI courses are available to students at the University of Eastern Finland. These programs are intended to enhance intercultural dialogue and address environmental issues globally. Teachers from both countries have worked together to plan and teach ERDI courses. This multicultural teaching environment is a benefit for both teachers and students.


ERDI's Testifying in Court Program will provide students with insight into criminal legal processes and the court system. This course will help students gain a deeper understanding and ability to give their testimony.

Underwater Crime Scene Investigations

ERDI Underwater Crime Scene Investigation is designed to assist law enforcement officers in acquiring the skills and knowledge required to conduct underwater crime scene investigations. Participants will learn how they can collect evidence, record the scene, and present court-ready testimony. The course is open to law enforcement and other emergency service personnel.

Instructors are experts in forensic investigation and will teach the program. These instructors have extensive experience and are certified in the field. They have extensive backgrounds in criminal justice and law enforcement. They also have advanced knowledge in the sciences of crime scene investigation. They will train public safety and law enforcement professionals around the globe.

Confined Space Diving Ops component

Students learn skills and knowledge that allow them to safely operate in confined spaces. This training is compliant with OSHA, NFPA, and FEMA regulations regarding water rescue. Students will learn how they can respond to different emergencies in small spaces. In addition, they will learn how to decontaminate victims and conduct a thorough search for evidence.
