Courses for Nitrox Certification

certified dive

There are many reasons you should take Nitrox certification courses. You can enjoy the excitement of diving with Nitrox. It also helps you to become more confident as a diver. Numerous organizations offer certification programs. Here are some of them: NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver, PADI Enriched Air Diver, SSI Adventure Diver, and Open Water Diver.

PADI Enriched Air Diver

PADI Enriched Air Divers (EANx) certification is designed for divers who want to improve their diving experience. The course includes home study and a short classroom lesson. The EANx course teaches about oxygen content and how to use a scuba Oxygen Analyzer. Also, it demonstrates standard procedures for recording oxygen levels in tanks.

Air divers who have been nitrox-enriched can extend their time underwater without needing to stop often. This is due to the reduced amount of nitrogen in the air mix, which means they have a higher safety margin. In addition, enriched air mixes usually have 32% or 36% oxygen, making them ideal for shallower dives.

NAUI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver

If you're looking to elevate your diving skills, getting certified as an enriched water diver is a good start. The course teaches you about blending air, how to safely handle high oxygen concentrations, as well the risks involved. Furthermore, you'll be able to use a divecomputer and analyze the contents. You'll also learn the Equivalent Air Depthance and how to use a standard dive table. You'll also learn about common blending procedures for nitrogen and oxygen.

Nitrox, also known to some as enhanced air, is a form of breathing gas which contains more oxygen that standard air. The higher oxygen content will allow you to stay underwater longer, without the need for refilling your tank. It reduces the effects of decompression fatigue and is beneficial to your health. Also, enriched air divers have shorter surface intervals.

SSI Adventure Diver

SSI International is a recognised diving organization. The SSI Adventure Diver Nitrox Certification ranks among the top. The certification requires knowledge, experience, and skills. You must have at least 50 dives, and four specialty courses to be eligible for this award.

The SSI Adventure Diver nitrox training course was designed to give students the skills and knowledge required to dive in poor visibility. It teaches divers how navigate in dark conditions, use specialized equipment, communicate with other divers, and how to communicate with them. Once they have completed the course, they will receive the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver recognition rating and will be eligible for the SSI Nitrox Specialty certification.

SSI Open Water Diver

The SSI Open Water Diver certification is internationally recognized. It includes three parts: academic, in-water pool training and multiple open-water diving. This course teaches you how plan and dive with oxygen-enriched air mixes, up to 40%. This can help you increase your bottom time and shorten your surface intervals, and may help you avoid decompression sickness.

PADI and SSI differ in how they handle certifications. With a PADI certification, you are required to purchase your manual. However, with an SSI certification, you receive your card from the dive center where you completed your course. You may also be able to use temporary cards from PADI certification centres as proof of your certification.
