Bonaire ranked 2nd in Advanced Diving.
Scuba Diving Magazine readers voted Bonaire the top Caribbean/Atlantic destination for five years. Bonaire won Best Shore Diving Destination and was also honored in the categories Best Underwater Photography (Best Visibility), and Best Advanced Diving. The magazine's November 2021 issue features the reader's choice awards.
Visitors to Bonaire can take advantage of the island's hiking trails and bike trails. You can even see flamingos in a national park. The island also has its own water filtering system, which makes the tap water safe for consumption. The island was home for 114 turtle nests in 2016, which is the highest number of nests in one season.

The fringing island's reef runs parallel along its leeward side, making it easy access to dive sites. Visibility is possible up to 80 feet/100m because the reef is shallow and warm.
